Invitations

So I went to art school, I am an interior designer for a living, and I have an unhealthy obsession with good quality paper. So I designed my own invitations. I blogged about them here. So months have passed since I made my mock up trial run. Some things have changed. Due to the large quantity of paper I wanted I went with a nicer linen finish paper instead of the expensive metallic paper and changed my envelopes to match. Which I actually like better. It seems to make the color pop a bit more as well as more legible. (which is important because we'd like people to attend this big shindig.) But tonight's the night I'm going to commit, stop redesigning and changing things and hit the "print" button.

Finally

One of the best parts of this weekend though was finally being able to check out inside of the Chapel where we are getting married. Yep I booked it site unseen. I lived in Athens during university, passed it a million times but never noticed it until I needed to find a place to get married. I found it online, loved the pictures and booked it. Though every time I've been to Athens it has been locked up so I have only peeked in the windows. (Eric went inside once and took that picture to show me.)
Yesterday it was unlocked for a play so I got to inside. It is so cool. I love the details on the railing, the great old fashioned chairs my guests will sit in. I am so excited to have explored the building. My Mom and Dad who met us on site arrived before Eric and I did. My Dad was really happy to see it and he secretly practiced with my Mom how the whole wedding day aisle walk will happen with my Mom before I arrived. My Mom told me today.

Can I have a rum punch please?

Eric and I tabled our honeymoon for a while. We didn't know if we could take one, with time, money and his job being a factor. Though now we've decide we can and are going to go on one. And my wonderful husband-to-be is planning the whole thing. So with some research and desire for a cabana on the beach. He's decided we are going to go to St. Marteen/St. Martin Island. I am so excited.

All dressed up.

Time is going by so fast. I feel like it was just last August and I was feeling the "it will be for-EVER until next August and our wedding day" slump. Well now its 4 months and a few weeks and I wish I could slow down time just slightly. I do have great new though! Our groomsmen have suits! Eric wanted his guys to wear suits instead of the usual tux.Well my deal hunter of a Fiancee found exactly what he wanted and put in an order for 3 fantastic suits from Jos A Bank. So with that taken care of I can sit back for a bit. Watch the mail box since he ordered them online and relax.

Also if you are going to hunt for deals for your maids or men, make sure you get there measurements early. It is very stressful trying to locate 6 peoples sizes. Especially for suits.

It's forREAL.

So today I picked up my wedding band from the jewelery store. We had it made to match my engagement ring. Every band I tried on at numerous jewelry stores didn't line up with the channel set diamonds on my band. So we went to a great store in Atlanta and set about getting one made. So in a little over a month they made me a ring to match. I am so excited to have it. I've known for months now that Eric and I are getting married but buying that little ring of gold really made it feel real. I'm so excited.

Color Inspiration

I know my wedding colors aren't the most common. I do however really like the combination. In my random internet searches I came across Idee multicolor search lab Flickr set. It's a site that will take up to 10 colors search the extensive range of pictures people have up loaded to flickr that fit your chosen colors profile and puts them together. I think it's a really cool idea and a quick way to see how your favorite colors fit together.

I'm a sucker for a suit

I love suits, I love ties, I love jackets, and I especially love cufflinks. I know I shouldn't be jealous that men get to wear them when I have a much large list of things I can adorn myself with. I just love Men's fashion. Which is why I really love the show Mad Men from AMC. I know I'm a couple of decades to late but the styles on that show are just so fabulous. I came across this amazing interview with the Janie Bryant, the costume designer behind the show. The featured Plaidy of the Week on all plaid out. It is a great interview and gave me some inspiration for Eric. Monogramed cuff links. I'm not sure where I'll get them yet but this quick google search landed me these puppies. I'll keep on the hunt for a good deal and maybe add them to his growing collection of cuff links.
