Deliciousness

photo from flickr by bokchoyboy

I love to cook. I especially love to bake. I have been looking for something new to try my hand at and I think I've found it. Parisian Macaroons. Don't they look delicious. Just looking at the pictures is making me hungry. I have a serious sweet tooth. I found the recipe on Martha Stewart's website. With the long labor day weekend ahead of me I hope to make a little time to make them. You can find all the how to on it here.

Somewhere Beautiful

Photo from istockphoto

Now who wouldn't want to spend a week in Portofino, Italy. Living it up in a seaside hotel or villa. Swimming in the beautiful blue sea. Sounds heavenly to me or a scene from an old movie. I'm not sure where Eric and I will go for our honeymoon. There are a lot of questions that need to be answered before we can figure that one out. A girl can dream though right.

Centerpieces

I'm not sure where I found this one.

I'm not sure where I found this picture but I love it.

I love the idea of having a ton of pink flowers in many different shades and a few different varieties. I think it would be so beautiful. Not to mention smell lovely. The second picture is truly my favorite. I think it is just gorgeous and I would love to create it for our own wedding centerpieces. Maybe just a little smaller for the tables. I also love the tea lights in the glass holders. I think having candles on the tables is a must have. I love soft glow of candles it creates such a romantic feel. I also adore the bouquet that's pictured. I am so excited to have such a vibrant color for our wedding. I can't wait to buy some flowers for a test run.

Tying the Knot

I love bright colors and interesting patterns. I am so excited that Eric will be wearing a fun colorful tie on our wedding day. I went browsing through the web to find images groom's wearing bright ties. The last picture is my absolute favorite. That tie is amazing. I wish I knew where it was from. I think Eric would love it. I also like the fuschia boutinare. I don't think Eric would want one so big. It seems a but much but the color is fabulous.

Cake Toppers

These custom cake toppers really crack me up. They are made by Nicole W. Clark. She makes personalized cake toppers to look like you. I think they are pretty cute and remind me a lot of Wallace and Gromit which I love. She can even do pets. Check out her website to see her other cute bride and groom cake toppers. www.nicolewong.com

an honest RSVP

photo from www.ready2spark.blogspot.com

Eric and I truly enjoy beer. I have to say he drinks it more than I do. Not so long ago he actually brewed his own beer and was pretty darn good at it. He drinks a lot of IPA's and I'm a lover of hefeweizen's both would could never be mistaken for a lite beer. I just had to post this because it made me laugh out loud when I saw it.

Anyone who knows me knows that I absolutely love cake. Let me rephrase that I love all sweets. Eric and I have talked about the kind of cake that we would like at our wedding. We both agree that butter cream frosting is the way to go. We don't not want anything that tastes or looks like cardboard near or on the cake i.e. fondant. I'm also pretty sure that our cake will be pretty simple. The cakes pictured above are some of the things that caught my eye. The caterer we hired can do all of the cakes pictured above in butter cream so I guess now it's a matter of what flavor. I really love the bottom cake with the flaked white chocolate. It looks delicious. Mmmm now I'm hungry and really want a piece of cake.

Cuff Links

I love the sentiment behind these. I always sign my letters with it.

I love these watch piece cufflinks. The really remind my of Eric. He loves watches and all things mechanical. I think I might just get a pair for him.

These are so cool that they are from an old type writer. The seller said they could take any letter you wanted. I really like the Q & A though. it makes me laugh.

These just cracked me up.

I loved monopoly as a kid. It was always a very serious game in my household growing up. It was always fun though. My Dad and brother always beat me. On reflection I bet the took advantage of my innocent monoply skills to fleece me of my better properties. :) It was still fun even though I never won.

Sometimes I think that men are given the short stick when it comes to jewelry. They usually just get a watch and a ring. I think though that with these cufflinks that men are taking some of the fun back. Now I want to wear cufflinks. These are so interesting and different. Etsy.com is full of amazing personal cufflinks for any occasion or hobby. I chose just a few of my favorites to share.

All of these cufflink images were found on www.etsy.com from various sellers.

Chapel

This is the railing of the chapel that We are getting married at. It's such an interesting building with cool details that appeal to Eric and I. He took this picture while he scouted out our locations. I really like it.

Jewelry Sadness

So I finally got the jewelry my amazing mom got me from the company Tigerlilly. I ordered a necklace, a pair of earrings and a comb for my hair. My necklace came in four pieces. It was really sad and very disappointing. I decided to send it all back. If the necklace couldn't survive a trip in bubble wrap what would happen as I walk down the aisle. Oops my jewelry just fell off. So my quest continues. This time I'll make sure I see it in person and try it on before I buy. Lesson learned.

Color Overload

tie that inspired by Paul Smith

I chose our palette based on tie.... a very handsome Paul Smith tie that Eric will wear on the day we get marrried. (I showed him the tie and he loved it, he actually showed more excitement towards this tie then anyother color ideas that I had shown him.) As well as an amazing pair of Stuart Weitzman shoes that I fell in love with. :) I've realized we seem to be traveling a wedding road less traveled by chosing this color palette. We wanted a color that popped that showed the fun and funky side of us. That was a summer color with a neutral base. We also wanted a color that wasn't the usual chocolate brown and pastel colors that I have seen in millions of wedding magazines. Here are a few of the images that I have found to give me inspiration

365 more days to go!

I am so excited! This time next year I'll be getting ready to get married. I will have sorted out the hundred's of wedding details (that I still have to consider). Though I am truly excited at the opportunity to plan such an huge event for Eric and myself. The fact the date is less than a year away, that we have an official date set, that having our ceremony and reception venues are booked makes it really feel like it's actually going to happen.
