Bridesmaids dresses

Some how along the way, my wedding has become kind of retro inspired. I guess it's all the historic venue's. This past weekend my hunt for an awesome bridesmaid's dress is over. I think I tried on over 50, and it was harder then finding my wedding dress. By the end of the day my hand hurt from zipping up so many dresses. I considered all of my girls figures and ended up trying this one on before I left my last bridal store. I tried it on and loved it. It is a Bill Levkoff, #551. It is European Royal Blue satin, and I will change the ribbon to be pink for my wedding, but it is just a ribbon so it can be removed later. It is such a fun dress for my evening wedding. It even has a bit of tulle under the skirt so it sways. The feedback from my maids has been great. I can't wait to see them in it.

Engagement Pictures are Back

I am so excited. We got our engagement pictures back. Above our a few of our favs. Eric and I searched for quite a while to find a great photographer. We found one in Shannon Wright. She is amazing, besides being a great photographer, she made us feel at ease and kept us in stitches during our whole shoot. She and her fellow photographer shot our e-pic session on blustery cold December day and made the day seem not so cold. By the end of the shoot I could barely move my hands. In March ,when it's warmer, we are going to take another shoot and the weather should be better. I am so excited to work with her and can't wait for the wedding.

Music to my ears

click photo for credit.

I am excited to have a new check. Music! I booked our the DJ for our wedding reception. We both love music and it will definitely make or break the reception. Now we have to compile a list of songs to define our musical style, and have the list of what we want to have or can't stand. I am also stoked because with our DJ comes with dance lighting. I'm thinking along the lines of awesome photographs of the dance floor. Not just of me of course but of everyone. This one just caught my attention.

I'm getting married... this year... in a few months eek!

This obviously isn't Eric and I but it is Athens, and taken by our amazing wedding photographer Shannon Wright. She's awesome and I hope to take a picture of Eric and I doing this. I am so excited that finally my wedding count down is down to months, days and weeks. I still have a lot to do. Though, I think I have secured the music portion for the night.

I am also excited that one of my best friends, and bride's maid is getting hitched this year too! I am also lucky enough to be a bride's maid in her wedding this June. Hopefully I'll be able to blog a bit more with the holiday season being over, and with my wedding planning back as a for runner in my thoughts.

A sigh of relief.

I kind of feel like this penguin. Breathing a sigh of relief. Just on a not life threatening level. I am under the 8 month mark until Eric and I get hitched. And so much has to happen before the big day. Last Saturday we took our Engagement pictures with our amazing photographer, Shannon Wright. It was freezing cold that evening but so much fun. We went all over Atlanta to take our pictures. I can not wait to see them. I was pretty nervous about getting our pictures taken. It's usually us on the other side of the camera.

Another sigh will go for Eric, he landed a job at a law firm. Which is super exciting because as you all know the economy sucks and landing a job is a good start in his professional career. (He graduates from Law School in May.) Finally another, sigh goes to Eric getting to wear a suit everyday to work, and that's a happy sigh.

Interesting Timing

So next Summer Eric and I are getting married. It is also my brother's 30th Birthday. He graciously allowed us to share his birthday. :) What is also pretty cool is next year Eric's parents will have known each other for 30 years that month. :) I believe my parents will have known each other for 35. Not to mention it's my grandparent's 55th wedding anniversary (they are pictured above) and Eric's grandparents 60th! I can only hope that Eric and will be fortunate enough to be together for as long as they are.

Everything Paper!

Mind the carpet, I am just super excited. I have finally finalized the design for our Save the dates and invitations After playing around in Illustrator this is what I've got. I know its a sneaky picture. I don't want to spoil the surprise for my family. I'm really excited about how they came out though. Our Save the Date is a postcard that I got printed from Vistaprint
and I love that company. They came out great. I can't wait to send them out. I will send them out in January so they don't get lost in the Christmas shuffle. I am also thrilled with the final result for our invitations. I wanted a different shape, as well as something that could give our guests all the information for what will be a destination wedding for most of our guests. I've included a reply, reception card, accommodations card and a map. The map took me forever. I drafted it all out in AutoCad then put it into Illustrator. That sounds like a lot but I wanted to give an idea on how awesome the town we are getting married in is. EEEP I'm so excited, now I just need to print a ton of them. I'm not posting pictures of everything because I do want it to be a surprise when I finally send them out. :) I just had to crow a little though.
